Porteus is a small GNU/Linux distribution based on Slackware. It is optimized to run from portable devices like CD, USB drive, hard drive or any other storage devices. Porteus comes in two flavors. Porteus general edition is meant for regular desktop computers while the other variation, Porteus Kiosk is developed for embedded systems like ATM machines, display boards, advertisement boards ..etc.
