elementary OS (eOS) is fast and simple GNU/Linux distribution built on top of Ubuntu LTS releases. The main highlight of elementary is a modern, easy to use & efficient desktop environment named Pantheon.
Visually, elementary OS resembles with other properietary operating systems like macOS and the main target of this distribution is to provide a familar user experience for people migrating from other platforms like MS Windows and macOS.
In addition to the custom desktop environment, elementary also offers in-house-built applications like AppCenter which is a lightweight, easy to use package manager.
